“We live on remembering and honoring the past, but always looking to the future." - SUPERMAN

CS CHALLENGE:
It is important to remember, superheroes, for our greatest lessons can be gleaned from our past.  It is also essential that we look to the future, for that is where the products of our intentions and dreams lie.  But it is the present moment which is the most imperative time, for it is the place where we can make the most difference.  All you truly have is NOW.

Here's to saving the... moment!

Embracing Identity

CS Challenge:

What is something you can do that few people can?  What is it that, no matter how small or seemingly trivial, is unique about you?  Whatever it is, superheroes, shout it from the highest hills for all to hear!!!  That one thing is only representative of a secret cache of amazing qualities you possess, and perhaps have forgotten about in all this time you have spent simply responding compassionately (and most times unknowingly) to the emotions, needs and actions of others.  We are tribal beings, remember.  We crave being a part of the whole.  That is why we might even sacrifice that part of ourselves that is beautiful and unique as a strategy for survival among the many...the rest of the tribe.  Ask yourself: Who am I? What do I stand for?  How, at the end of the day, can I make absolutely sure that my tribe knows who I am too?

Personally, I love playing the Ukulele :)

To tell it true, you got to be you!

Superhero Wisdom: The Impossible

"Everything's impossible until somebody does it." - BATMAN

CS CHALLENGE:
Superheroes, often we wait- we wait for something to happen or for someone to do something first.  We convince ourselves that we need a sign, some precedented reason before we act, pursue or become.  The truth is, each of us is unprecedented, unique, original.  Nothing has been ever done quite the way that you do it.  That is precisely why you should not wait do what you've only dreamed of doing and to become what you see as your greatest self.  The impossible is only possible when we don't try.  It's high time to change the "impossible" to "I'm Possible!"

Go for it, we're all cheering you on as we do the same thing...

Superhero Wisdom: Dreams

"Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us.… until… a world where dignity, honor and justice becomes the reality we all share." - SUPERMAN

CS CHALLENGE:
Happy New Year, superheroes!  Let this be the time for our greatest dreams- those which we have most treasured and protected for all of this time, hidden away and saved for the right place and the right moment.  So, let it be now.  May our dreams in this new time bring great light and be a reflection of our character and our effortless will to protect, defend and honor the highest potential for our existence as a true and kind people.

Forward on and be your best...

CS CHALLENGE:
Your destiny is your own... and yours alone, superheroes.  No one can completely make your decisions for you or be the you that you've always aspired to be.  If you can decide, truly decide that you are great and good and powerful and true, then nothing and no one can tell you otherwise.  Dare to take control of your path, or if not control, than embrace it completely and with passion and deliberation hold on tight and enjoy the ride!

Weeeee!

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"There isn't much justice in this world. Perhaps that's why it's so satisfying -- to occasionally make some." - MARTIAN MANHUNTER

CS CHALLENGE:
In every day, superheroes, there are small moments of greatness.  Be aware of those small moments.  Often we allow them to be overshadowed by occasions of hardship or disappointment.  Dare to see the greatness in every day.  Open your eyes and remember to note the victories, no matter how small or momentary.

Be well and strong,
-Citizen Superhero

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"I came here to be accepted...not to be reminded that I'm different. I may not know much about your culture...but it's my understanding that...we should support one another...not undercut each other no matter how playfully."  -AQUAMAN

CS CHALLENGE:
So often, fellow superheroes, do we find ourselves going through changes and new experiences, whether by desire, need, or circumstance.  Everything we are and have become is challenged by this kind of change.  It can be a very difficult and frustrating situation when our personal traditions, beliefs and ethics are threatened.  It is always an obstacle for us to trust that, in these moments, curiosity make us say and do curious things and that we seldom accept what we do not understand.  Broaden your mind about others if you want others to be broad-minded about you, because it is at that very moment...the real learning happens.

Be well,
-Citizen Superhero

Have a powerful week,

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"When people are confronted with unexpected strength, they tend to react with fear, not reason." - SUPERMAN

CS CHALLENGE:
Superheroes, do not fear change.  You must be prepared for greatness.  A this very moment, you are creating love and understanding all around you, just by intending to be good.  Be aware of your natural reactions and learn from them.  Your power is forever growing, but it is you who must decide how to use it.  Let your most uncomfortable encounters and moments be moments of awareness.  There is strength to be gained in all experience.  Be open and receptive.

Here's to the wonderfully unexpected,
-Citizen Superhero

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"It is time for our people to hear the voice of reason rather than rage." - MARTIAN MANHUNTER

CS CHALLENGE:
It is so easy to react when we feel threatened, angry or in danger.  Be conscious of how you respond to people and situations.  We can be a reasonable people, but if it is peace and reason we require, then we must practice it ourselves, so that we may model behavior for those that lead and represent us in this world.  Anger is strong, but easy...kindness and reason are difficult, but far more powerful.  Be brave...do the things which may seem difficult, and that nearly scare you because of how true and right they really are.

-Citizen Superhero

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"If you knew how you are loved, not one of you would raise a hand in rage again." - SUPERMAN

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"Heroes always make a difference." - HAWKMAN

CS Challenge:
Our heroes appear to us in so many different forms and at different times in our lives.  Some are consistent, while others are there for us in particular times of need.  Inspiration and motivation are states of being we always pursue and may find in our heroes.  These individuals are the bright bursts of light which propel us along our journey.

So, who makes or has made a difference in your life?  The difference can be specific or general.  Give voice to a hero in your life that has provided the difference, the balance (or has even tipped the balance) for you.
