CS ALERT: The Charles Schulz Philosophy

This is the personal philosophy of the late Charles Schulz, creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip and fellow citizen superhero.  It is a true testament to his amazing superpower for making others see joy in the world and greatness in themselves.  You don't have to answer the questions. Just ponder on them...

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world
2. Name the last five World Cup winners
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss UK pageant
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel Prize
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress
6. Name the last decade's worth of Wimbledon winners

How did you do?

The point is none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
…and…
Applause dies
Awards tarnish
Achievements are forgotten
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the
most credentials, the most money...or the most awards. They simply are the ones who
care the most!

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"Sometimes the most obvious things are the easiest overlooked." - CAPTAIN AMERICA

Keep your eyes peeled, superheroes!  Don't forget about the bigger picture.  It is way too easy to get caught up in the little details.  Have a powerful week.

Superhero Wisdom of the Week

"People can't change what they are until and unless they understand what they can be. Unless they can know it and feel it in their hearts." - SPIDER-MAN

Superhero Wisdom of the Week:

"A man who can inspire laughter...and joy...is the holiest man of all." - LIGHTNING LASS

...And the greatest superpower of all...the selfless ability to bring joy to others.  There is nothing more sacred, nor complete, than pure happiness.  Superheroes, we must laugh until no end and seek to inspire joy without hesitation, for there is no greater meaning for the greater good.

Superhero Wisdom of the Week:

"If not for the depths of grief, how could we truly measure the heights of joy." - MAGIK

There are always those moments, superheroes, which truly break us; you know, the ones that can totally squash us down and put us at our weakest and lowest point...a.k.a. the bottom.  Whatever the moment is, it tests our character and it is a great moment because it defines for us all that is great and good and wonderful in our lives and it highlights those things around us and even in ourselves, those beautiful things, we may have overlooked or downplayed or misjudged for some time.  At times, it isn't until that truly low moment that we understand the pure breadth of our strength and power.

So here’s to each difficult day, each loud person on the bus that tests us to our absolute limit, every time we cannot find a parking spot, or when our car breaks down, or when we lose our keys or a friend or our sanity, and to every other hard time in our life, big or small…oh amazing how the good times can be sooo GOOD!
